Cookies and more!

My AWS turned 17 months ago in the time that I have not blogged. Almost a year and a half old, so hard to believe.

I toured hospital option #1, the closer hospital just over the weekend. I found it to be acceptable, but my husband did not. In fact he wants to see hospital option #2 (which happens to be my first choice based on their website information) despite it being 25 minutes away. We've got to come to a decision fast though, it's coming close to the end of pregnancy for us.

Austin amazed me last night. I was checking my messages online and he comes up to me with one of his diapers... It's pretty typical for him to bring me odds and ends so I just put it aside. Then he goes over to try to open a wipe container, which then leaves me quite confused. My child HATES diaper changes, it's a challenge to get him changed just about every time. So then I notice that he's NOT wearing his diaper. After searching for the diaper I find that it has pee in it... he changed himself. I was amazed. So after this incident and some other signs we are going to introduce the potty to him soon. There's a possibility he'll regress after his baby sister is born or when Daddy goes on deployment... but I'll deal with that then. As long as he's interested.

I tried my hand at making some cookies from scratch the other time, my first time. Cooking and I, we don't really go together. Not that I'm all that BAD, I just dislike it. However I'm trying to get myself interested for once the husband leaves. Baking is pretty much on the same level...

Well that's how they turned out. Not so bad for a first time but could be better. At least they came out as "cookies".

And AWS enjoyed them.

For Christmas AWS's Aunts in SD bought him some bath crayons. Todd was so excited because he's been wanting to buy some for AWS. Last time we brought them into bathtime he didn't quite understand or know how to use them, he was attempting to draw with the bottom non crayoned part. We tried them again the other night in the shower and he understand the concept right away.

It entertained him well during the shower and he was very into it. I liked that it just wiped clean at the end.

Today we also tried actual crayons again for the first time in a while... the last time we brought them out AWS thought they may taste good. He took to crayons and drawing very well. He was very into what he was doing. He would not let me help him at all! He did accept me encouraging him and telling him what a beautiful drawing he was creating. He wasn't too happy in the end when he decided he was done drawing, which meant the crayons get put away.

Now it's up on our fridge for us to admire. (:
