Reconstructed Cami Bag.

The bag sitting down.
 Little bow and button closure.
Bow from fabric and cami scrap.
 Button closure and inside.
The whole bag, filled with all of my essentials.

The bag was constructed out of of cami blouse my husband could not fit and we were unable to return it. It's the blue digital cami print. Also put together with fabric I picked out, thread, and fusible webbing.

Easter.

Hope everyone had a fantastic Easter, or rather just a great day if you don't celebrate Easter.

Despite the day starting out being wet and icky we managed to have a good day.
Despite not being able to go to the beach like we've been wanting.

Day started out by the kids waking up and waiting for Daddy to get back from performing a job because he was on call. I Skyped with my Mom. And we had breakfast that my husband made. And the kids got their Easter baskets.

 Austin's basket.
Made up of like 7 books (I lost count), a Spongebob DVD, a Little People's School Bus and Ducky from Grandma, a puzzle, (not pictured:) chocolate peeps, regular peeps, a chocolate cross, and some rice bars. He had a Doodle Pad too but he got it early.

 Peyton's.
Peyton's basket made up of a lamb, three onesies, a hat, some pacifiers, a pacifier holder, bath toys, duckies, and wrist rattles, ducky, bunny, and rattle set from Grandma.

Austin went on an egg hunt in the afternoon when it finally got nice enough and found eggs, carrots, and Spongebobs that were filled with fruit snacks and chocolate kisses. He also found three eggs that had cars in them! Too bad I had some technical difficulties and did not get any photos. He found most of them on his own.

Then we colored Eggs. Austin was so into this.

 Austin's egg,
 Daddy's.
 Mommy's.
And all of them. We forgot to color one.

And it was Peyton's "First Easter".

Hope you had a fantastic day.

Natural.

Today I thought I'd blog about some ways our family tries to be green and natural.
Or how you say, "Granola".
After all, it is Earth Day.

- We reuse and repurpose.
: With plastic bags we use them for our trash containers around the house...
: We reuse plastic containers.
: Boxes are often used for holding stored items or for holding our recycling.

- Which brings me to... We recycle often.

- I used vinegar for cleaning often.
: Vinegar is great for cleaning. It all started when I used it for the bath tub because I worried about using a harsh chemical to clean the tub where my children bathe. Now it has escalated. I use it for cleaning off counters and surfaces. It's even good for windows. The best part is that vinegar actually keeps bugs away. If the smell of vinegar bothers you you can add some essential oils into the mix, but I don't the smell seems to fade and doesn't bother me at first.

- I breastfeed.
: It's a very natural act. It saves me money but without formula feeding I do not have to dispose of formula cans. I do not have to wash bottles.

- We had a clothes line.
: I say had because housing came to slip our trees in the backyard and CUT the lines. And then the dog destroyed them.  A clothes line is great in our area for drying out comforters, sheets, pillow cases, and blankets.

- Instead of using paper towels, we mostly use washcloths.
: We do have a few rolls in our home for when we need them... but for cleanings and cleaning off surface a washcloth works well. And when you're done it can be washed.

Update.

I've been bad and haven't update and neglected my poor blog.

Austin is now 20 months old, so close to two.
And Peyton is coming up to being 2 months old.

She is nursing strong. and Austin is still interested also, so I'm tandem nursing them both. Tandem nursing is not easy just to let everyone know.

My husband went away for field training and is back now. He was gone for almost 4 weeks and I didn't hear from him at all until the last two days he was gone. We're coming up on his deployment, and it's hard.

And we traveled to San Diego on Saturday to witness Mary and Gil's wedding. Mary and Gil are some friends from Twetynine. In attendance were also some of the other members of the Twentynine Palms Naval Family. It was a great wedding and reception. Austin had a blast running around, Todd was happy to see some of his old friends, I was glad to be there, and everyone loved meeting Peyton and seeing how much Austin has grown.

 Here comes the bride.
 Daw.
 Rings.

You may kiss the bride. He surprised us by swooping her.

 Man and wife!
 There they go!
 Austin at the wedding.

Our table, the "USS Bataan". The wedding was a nautical theme.
Todd's little boat namecard. Even if our last name is spelled incorrectly.
And mine, I'm impressed she got my first name spelled correctly.

 Mmm cake!

 Her bouquet.

 Twentynine family.

Aren't they a beautiful couple?
And thank god for portable DVD players.

Otherwise, that 3 1/2 hour trip there would have been terrible. And it was a 5 hour drive back because of a route my husband took.

And that's it for the update.
