Today was day 136 into deployment.
Today is the US Navy's 236th birthday! Wow. Holey moley... that's a while.
I'd like to thank my husband for being a part of this branch. For all of the sacrifices he makes for us.
Always remember that this people who are serving in our military aren't just filled uniforms, or pawns for that matter. They are people. They have families. Some have children.. spouses... Everyone of them is something to someone. Whether it be sister, brother, mother, father, husband, wife, anything. They are actual people. People who matter. People are are making sacrifices for someone else. Or people trying to make a difference. Or ones that want to have a future. Remember these things as they are constantly fighting on soil that is not American. And especially remember them when they don't make it home. Keep in mind the ones that are "home". The ones that are far from everything they knew before. They are working whenever they are told to. They are the ones trying to get home at the end of the day to their families. And there are the ones who are so close, but so far from theirs. Miss birthdays... holidays... births... family deaths... starting school... development milestones... little every day moments... They are missing it all & more. To give it their all.
Today I felt much better, almost all better. My kids are getting there still. It was a hot day for sure. 91 was the high for today. It was bright. And boy was it warm. AWS and I made a walk to our exchange and commissary. We also stopped by the car wash our car wash fundraiser our FRG was having. At the exchange AWS found a new mini pillow pet friend. We bought groceries to last so we avoid the pay day rush.
AWS's ICEE (he gets treated to one when we go to the NEX&Commissary) and my Pepsi.
AWS's chips he snacked on during our time out and about & my Cheetos AWS ended up stealing from.
Strollers come in handy when carting littles and groceries.
My son looks adorable even with cheese on his face. (:
AWS decided he wanted to walk from the commissary almost to our house, on his own two feet. I was so proud of him, that's quite a distance for a little kid to walk! He also listened to instructions so well during the walk. I need to find some rope or something to tie to my stroller for him to hold onto. When he holds onto the frame, it causes him to stumble and trip from the close space.
I also went to Sam's Club with my friend today to pick up dog food and some other things that I wanted. Plus, stopped at the .99 store on the way home.
Overall, a decent day.
- Rayne.
