Our countUPs & more.

Now it's 7/2/2011, Day 33.

Plenty of people have asked what our chain link is. What's written on it and what it's for.
To clarify, it is not a countDOWN link. It's counting how many days we've gone through this deployment.
On each link we've written what happened that day, accomplishments, and the kids' milestones.

When I was preparing for deployment I knew I wanted to do a link. At first I thought about doing a countdown link... but I didn't really want to look at that long link around my house and only take down ONE every day (plus I didn't want to glue that many links together all at once). So we decided on the countUP link together, my husband and I. Mostly our days are typical, but it's like journaling on every link.

We use a gold star to mark a month done. My husband's idea.

I've watched our link grow and grow. And it's still got even more to go.

In our home we also do a "sticker chart". This was my way of getting our toddler involved in our countUP until Daddy's return. He likes stickers, he likes being involved, and this was a great way for him to be involved. He gets to put up a sticker every day (and chose it too). He's also scribbled on it to my dismay.

Today I mostly cleaned. And finished editing photos from my friend's photoshoot. We also worked on a small project for decor for Daddy's next package. And put together some odds and ends.

Alphabet cards I made from some cards and little foam stickers. No biggie.
"Austin" put together in his bedroom. Cute and easy decor.

To end the day my friend Brook came over for her CD of photos I finished and her mini pillow I made her. We then ended up at her house having a late movie night watching "Burlesque".

Another day down.

- Rayne.
