After a phone call from his recruiter when he asked "When are you getting married? You head out on Sunday." My fiance of only a short months told him "Saturday". We were walking to my job together, it was Thursday. Because of a misunderstanding we didn't think he was still eligible, able, or going to go into the Navy.
That's when the insanity began.
That's when the insanity began.
We planned our wedding in those short days. I had to work all of those days, even Saturday. But luckily, I was able to get out of it thanks to my boss's supervisor. I managed to shop for a wedding dress in under 45 minutes. With my schedule, I was unable to contact people directly to invite them. The place of the wedding changed before the ceremony. It was raining that morning. On my side of the family my mother, father, youngest sister, and dog attended. My other sister was unable to make it, she was at a Job's Daughter function.
The most unplanned event of my life probably.
Despite there being several people in our lives who did not want it for us. And a handful of people who made an effort to try to cause harm to our relationship. We still went on with the day.
Here we are now. Three years later.
We've been through more than what other couples have probably, and we're still together. Plenty of people have questioned why I've stuck with him through it all. Why I haven't walked away... I love him more than I've ever loved anyone. I have put everything I have and had into our relationship work. He's broken my heart and put the pieces together again.
We've been through ups and downs... and some of the hardest times we've ever faced. We have two beautiful children together. We have created this life together. We've managed through his Navy career. We've moved over 3000 miles away from everything we knew. We've become each other's best friends. We've conquered many obstacles. We've made it this far through the storms and the sunshine.
I never imagined this life for me.
But now that I'm living it... I couldn't imagine my life any other way.
You're my everything. All of my heart belongs to you.
I spend this anniversary with you on the other side of the world, knowing we'll be together another one.
I love you. Forever and always. We've made it this far.. Let's go even farther.
Recently edited wedding photo. A favorite.
Our little ceremony.
"some say we're a couple of crazy kids."
Lighting our candle.
Cutting the cake, kisses (notice his hand)
So sneaky, getting cake on me.
First dance.
Forever and always.
